About the Authors

Kenneth Weene

Dr. Kenneth Weene is from the United States of America. For many years he practiced as a psychologist. After retiring Dr. Weene began writing, something he has always wanted to do. He has published poetry, short stories, essays, novels and a few short plays. Ashes is his first full-length play. Ken found the process of working with a co-writer from another culture to be exciting and educational. He hopes there will be more collaborations to come. You can learn more about Ken and sample his other writing.

Umar O. Abdul

Umar O. Abdul is a Nigerian playwright of the Igala origin. He has published The Making of Tomorrow, The Surrogate, etc. Umar has also co-authored Stray Bullet, and The Broken Moon. However, Ashes is his first international collaboration. Umar O. Abdul has been teaching Theatre Arts and Cultural and Creative Arts courses in the Department of Theatre Arts, Kogi State College of Education, Ankpa.
