Martin Z. Njeuma

Martin Z. Njeuma was born in Buea on 9th April 1940, attended St.  Joseph’s College Sasse (1954-1958), King’s College Lagos (1959-60), University of  Ghana, Legon (1961-64), and SOAS, London (1964-69) where he qualified with a PhD in African History. He was the recipient of
several awards, including the Humbolt Stiftung of Germany (1971-72) and Fulbright-Hays Visiting Professorship to the University of South Carolina, USA (Spring Semester 1976). In 1993, Njeuma was appointed the pioneer Dean of the Faculty of Arts, University of Buea. He was also the first Dean to take a seat at the University Council. Njeuma died 28th April 2010, a widely travelled and well published scholar.
