Safiya Ismaila Yero

Safiya Ismaila Yero is from Jimeta in Adamawa State, Nigeria. She has B.A. and M.A. degrees in English and Literature from the University of Abuja, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the Nigerian Teachers' Institute (NTI). She taught in a secondary school before joining the University of Abuja. Her debut novel, When There is Life, was published in 2013. She is currently a PhD student focusing on emergent trends in contemporary northern Nigerian fiction. Safiya is also a poet, book reviewer and editor and has written several scholarly articles. She is married and has two children.
