Farm For Your Farm

by Wellington Nwogu

"Wellington Nwogu's literary artistry has somewhat strengthened our emerging new genre in literature by plainly weaving the simplistic language, "pidgin" famously spoken by the people of the wetland of Nigeria, telling their story, folklores, and mores in a way of songs of poetry with incredible finesse..."

- Adi Wali, Author and Managing Editor, Rivers Informant Magazine, Press Unit of Government House, Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

"Farm For Your Farm is a bold experiment in pidgin poetry. With efforts such as Nwogu's and a few other's, the yearning for codification and standardisation especially, in the areas of orthography and syntax may soon receive due attention."

- Anaele Ihuoma, Literary critic.

"Farm for your Farm is notable for its uniqueness of language... This pidgin collection of poems is a special verse for the special people of the Niger Delta and Nigeria, which captures the experiences of the people; this announces that the poet is a multifaceted writer of vast artistic endowments. Nwogu, therefore, deserves a special place in the maze of Nigerian Literature."

- Prof. Ozo-mekuri Ndimele, Former Vice Chancellor, Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt.

"Farm For Your Farm is a creatively ingenious collection of poems written in Pidgin English, otherwise known as Naija Langwej... Nwogu, here, grants readers a visa into the vista of Pidgin Poetry; meaning, you can enjoy good poems in the beauty of Nigerian parlance."

- BM Dzukogi, Former National Secretary, Association of Nigerian Authors.

"It is daring to write an entire book in pidgin, the people's vernacular. Nwogu has proven his mettle as an ardent lover of literature in and out of season in Farm For Your Farm, a masterwork that portrays the variegated pigments of our profound humanity."

- Dr. Ebidenyefa Tarila-Nikade, Author, 14 Letters To My Lazy Lover on Valentine's Day.
