Afrikan Baby Book Project

African children RARELY see themselves or characters that look like them in the books they read.

The Afrikan Baby Book Project seeks to enhance literacy initiatives by delivering culturally appropriate children’s books that more accurately reflect and positively impact African children’s perceptions of themselves, their cultural values and their environment.

Books transform how children perceive themselves and the world around them.  Books are tools for freedom and equality, they inspire and help create a sense of connection.

We invite you and your organization to contribute to the eradication of poverty via culturally appropriate education on the African continent by donating Afrikan Baby Books.  The African-authored books are relatable and will spark curiosity, inspire confidence and creativity, while encouraging compassion and critical thinking.

Each Afrikan Baby Book on the pre-selected list is carefully considered for its potential to boost the reader’s self-esteem, self-determination and self-reliance.
It is donors like you that make the Afrikan Baby Book project possible: we are excited that you have chosen to help us along our journey. With your support, we can impact more schools, orphanages and villages.

The African Book Collective offers pre-selected children’s books at a 35% discount, EXCLUSIVELY to Afrikan Baby Book Project donors.

Many thanks for your donation.
