Marion Kilson

Marion Kilson began studying Ga culture for her doctoral dissertation; she received her Ph. D. in Social Anthropology from Harvard University in 1967. Her previous publications on Ga topics include Kpele Lala: Ga Religious Songs and Symbols (Harvard University Press, 1971), African Urban Kinsmen: The Ga of Central Accra (C. Hurst, 1974), and Dancing with the Gods: Essays in Ga Ritual (University Press of America, 2013). The National Council of Ghanaian Associations gave her the Scholastic Award for Outstanding Contribution to Ghanaian Culture and Traditional Practices at the Benefit Gala in Honor of Ghana’s Golden Jubilee in New York City in 2007.
